Compost bins on sale at ‘Down to Earth’ prices
WINNIPEG - May 26, 2003
- The City of Winnipeg and the Province of
Manitoba are sponsoring another one day compost bin sale to take place this
Saturday, May 31, 2003.
North America’s number one selling compost bin, The Earth Machine, valued at
$80.00 each, will be sold at a reduced price of $25.00. Cash or cheques only
will be accepted – cheques should be made payable to Norseman Plastics.
2,500 bins will be available at each of the following four locations, rain
or shine, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm:

There is no limit on the purchase of bins.
Composting experts will be at each of the sale locations to answer
questions. Residents can also get information on composting by calling
Resource Conservation Manitoba’s Compost Infoline weekdays at 925-3777, or
by signing up for a free workshop.
Each compost bin can prevent 100 kilograms of organics from going to the
landfill each year. Organic materials produce methane gas in landfills,
which contributes to harmful climate change.
