Truck plowing on main routes, bus routes and collector streets underway
The annual Snow Route Overnight Parking Ban remains in effect

The City of Winnipeg encourages the public to use extreme caution when approaching or driving near any snow clearing or sanding equipment and to drive to road conditions.

WINNIPEG December 22, 2007 - A truck plowing operation is underway on main routes, bus routes and collector streets in response to snow accumulations overnight and this morning. Sidewalk plowing will also focus on main routes, bus routes and collector streets and is expected to be completed Monday.

Sand truck operations will continue around the clock to address ongoing traction concerns on the roadways.

Public Works is continuing to monitor weather and road conditions to determine ongoing plowing requirements.

The annual Snow Route Overnight Parking Ban, that went into effect on December 1, 2007, remains until March 1, 2008. Motorists should note that if they park a vehicle on a street designated as a Snow Route, that vehicle must be moved by 2:00 a.m. Citizens are encouraged to call 775-SNOW or see up-to-date information regarding parking bans at Winnipeg.ca/publicworks. Individuals are also invited to sign-up online for the City’s e-mail notification process regarding parking bans.

The City of Winnipeg encourages the public to use extreme caution when approaching or driving near any snow clearing or sanding equipment and to drive to road conditions.
