Henderson Library reopening following renovations and expansion

Winnipeg, October 12, 2010 - Henderson Library, located at 1-1050 Henderson Highway, is reopening Monday, October 25 at 1 p.m. following extensive renovations and an expansion. The new library has an additional 6,000 sq. ft of space, for a total of 18,060 sq. ft. of new or completely renovated space.
The new library has many features including additional space for collections, more reading and study tables and chairs, an area for teens, a self-checkout, two new program rooms that can be rented by the public, and a new tutorial room for community use. The library is bright and airy, fully accessible, and has free Wi-Fi during open hours. The library will continue to host a range of programs for all ages from family literacy programming to information programs for adults.
Additionally:
- The Bronx Park Community Centre temporary holds pickup and return site closes Friday, October 15 at 4:30 p.m. Holds remaining at Bronx Park Community Centre will be sent to Henderson Library for pickup once it opens.
- Henderson Library's book chute opens Saturday, October 16 for returns of library material.
- Munroe Library returns to regular hours Monday, October 25.
A Grand Opening celebration will be held later in the year.
