December 30 , 2010 - Molson Coors Canada and the City of Winnipeg would like to remind all partiers that free transit service will be available on New Years' Eve.

The free rides apply to all Regular and Handi-Transit service beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 31 until end of service (approximately 2:00 a.m.). Last buses leave downtown at 1:38 a.m.

Last year, over 10,000 Winnipeggers took advantage of the offer. The free New Year's Eve service is sponsored by The City of Winnipeg, Molson Coors Canada, Winnipeg Transit and Power 97. This is the third year Molson Coors Canada has teamed up with Winnipeg Transit to provide free service on New Year's Eve.

December 30, 2010 - The City of Winnipeg is reminding citizens that new Transit and Handi Transit fares go into effect January 1, 2011. Winnipeg Transit's new fare structure continues to offer substantial reductions in fares for seniors and qualifying students.

Winnipeg Transit reminds all customers that tickets and passes provide the best value compared to paying cash fares.

2010 bus tickets (plus the cash difference) will be accepted until March 31, 2011. Tickets (sold in strips of 5 or 10) and passes are available at over 140 retail outlets throughout Winnipeg. The Transit website also has information on the 15% federal tax credit available to weekly and monthly pass purchasers - as do the customer service representatives at 311.
