Victoria Day long weekend operating hours for Frozen Pipe Citizen Resource Centres

Winnipeg, MB – The City's Frozen Pipe Citizen Resource Centres will have adjusted operating hours during the Victoria Day long weekend. Citizens can access the Centres to refill water containers, shower, and obtain information on frozen pipes during the following hours:

Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex, 999 Sargent Avenue

Saturday, May 17 Regular hours - 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Sunday, May 18 Regular hours - 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Monday, May 19 Adjusted hours - 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Elmwood Kildonans Pool, 909 Concordia Avenue

Temporarily closed.

Fort Rouge Leisure Centre, 625 Osborne Street

Saturday, May 17 Regular hours - 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Sunday, May 18 Regular hours – 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Victoria Day long weekend operating hours for City of Winnipeg facilities and services

Winnipeg, MB – All civic offices are closed on Victoria Day, Monday, May 19, 2014.

Frozen Pipe Citizen Resource Centres

The City’s Frozen Pipe Citizen Resource Centres will have adjusted operating hours during the Victoria Day long weekend. Citizens can access the Centres to refill water containers, shower, and obtain information on frozen pipes during the following hours:

Recycling/Garbage Collection Schedule

Single-family homes

Recycling, garbage and yard waste will be collected as normally scheduled for those with Monday as a collection day.

Swimming Pools

All City of Winnipeg swimming pools will be closed on Monday, May 19, except Pan Am Pool and Fitness Centre, and the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex and Fitness Centre.

Pan Am Pool and Fitness Centre will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 19.

The Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex and Fitness Centre will be open from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 19.

Regular hours of operation are in effect for all pools on Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18.

Libraries

Hours of operation for Winnipeg Public Libraries during the Victoria Day weekend are as follows:

Sunday, May 18 Regular hours of operation
Monday, May 19 All branches are closed

Note: Winnipeg Public Library branches switch to summer hours starting Tuesday, May 20; weekend hours will change. Fall/winter hours resume September 2, 2014 (after Labour Day).

Online services, including catalogue searches, requests/renewals, databases, and eBooks are available anytime at Winnipeg Public Library.

Animal Services Agency

Hours of operation for Animal Services Agency during the Victoria Day weekend are as follows:

Friday, May 16 Regular hours – 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 17 Regular hours – 12 noon to 5:00 p.m.
Sunday, May 18 Regular hours – 12 noon to 5:00 p.m.
Monday, May 19 Closed
Tuesday, May 20 Regular hours – 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Two southbound lanes on St. Mary’s Road open for evening rush hour

Released: 3:10 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB – Two southbound lanes on St. Mary’s Road will be open for evening rush hour today.

Due to a void under the pavement, southbound St. Mary’s Road at Morier Avenue was temporarily closed yesterday evening.

Traffic re-routing will be in place to accommodate rush hour traffic until repairs are completed, which is expected early next week.

The City would like to thank motorists for their patience while repairs are made.
