PROGRAMS & SERVICES

Governance Support Program

Access to Information- A public service offered to information seekers that provides responses to information requests under The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

Archival Research & Facilitation - A public service offered to researchers that provides access to archival documents, scheduling, determining needs and retrieving materials.

Citizen's Information Services - A public service offered to civic information seekers that provides City information to telephone inquiries or walk-in customers in both official languages.

Decision Appeals - A public service offered to decision appellants that provides an opportunity for appeal of a decision made by Council or the Administration.

Document Certification - A public service offered to individuals requiring authenticated documents that provides a certified photocopy of the original document for legal, insurance or government purposes, e.g. birth certificates, death certificates.

Elections - A public service offered to registered voters that provides election co-ordination/delivery for Mayor, Councillors and School Board Trustees (every four years) as well as by-elections.

Municipal Manual Sales - A public service offered to civic information-seeking individuals that provides historical and functional information about the City of Winnipeg.

Touring of City Hall - A public service offered to visitors, individuals and school groups that provides guided tours of City Hall.

Voter Registration - A public service offered to eligible voters that provides entitlement to vote during municipal elections.

Voting Machine Leasing - A public service offered to other municipalities or jurisdictions that provides leased electronic voting machines for elections.

Information Stewardship Program

Records Management - Under the direction of the City Records Manager and Archivist, a Records Committee has been established to implement policies and procedures approved by Council for the management, retention, safekeeping, disposition and destruction of records in all City departments. The Committee reports on the management and condition of records keeping and information handling, and determines suitable retention and disposal authority and procedures for all City records and submits an annual report to Council.

Public Health Program

Manitoba Health Applications - A public service offered to individuals wanting health care coverage that provides application taking for Manitoba Health.
