Provision of support services to community centres through a cooperative partnership between GCWCC and the City of Winnipeg Community Services Department


About GCWCC
Through its partnership with the City, GCWCC provides ongoing leadership support to Winnipeg’s community centre executives and volunteers. Support services include:
  • Board development
  • Program development
  • Financial accountability
  • Constitutional reviews
  • Policy issues
  • Yearly incorporation reviews
  • Employee/employer responsibilities
  • Screening of volunteers
  • Legal liabilities
  • Respectful workplace policies
  • Child abuse registry checks
  • Fair play
  • Leadership training seminars
  • Publications of training manual/booklet


Community Centre Renovation Fund

The Community Centre Renovation Fund supports repairs, upgrades, retrofits, safety improvements and renovation projects at City of Winnipeg Community Centre facilities.
Only facility areas receiving operating dollars through the Universal Funding Formula are eligible.

Community Centre Volunteers

Community centres provide recreation programs and services to area residents through a cooperative partnership between community centre volunteers and City administration. Throughout the year, dedicated volunteers commit their time and energy to the operation of community center facilities and programs. Volunteers provide enjoyable activities that are appropriate for people of all ages and interests and that often lead to the development of new skills and enduring friendships.
