Closure on William Avenue this weekend

Due to hospital construction, William Avenue will be closed this weekend to local traffic, pedestrians and cyclists at Sherbrook Street. Local traffic can still access the Health Sciences Centre and the William Avenue parkade from the west, but will not be able to access them from Sherbrook Street.

In effect from 6:00 p.m. Friday, May 11 to 6:00 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2012

WINNIPEG - May 9, 2012 - Due to hospital construction, William Avenue will be closed this weekend to local traffic, pedestrians and cyclists at Sherbrook Street. Local traffic can still access the Health Sciences Centre and the William Avenue parkade from the west, but will not be able to access them from Sherbrook Street.

Vehicles trying to access the Health Sciences Centre Emergency departments can detour via McDermot Avenue - click here to see a map.

Transit Routes 12 WILLIAM and 33 MAPLES will be rerouted via William, Tecumseh, McDermot, Sherbrook and William in both directions during the street closure. Temporary bus stops will be set up along McDermot to access Health Sciences Centre.
