Higgins Avenue between Gomez Street and Argyle Street closed this weekend

The public is advised that all lanes and sidewalks on Higgins Avenue will be closed from Gomez Street to Argyle Street starting Friday, June 29 at 7:00 p.m. and opening Monday, July 2 at 6:00 a.m.

WINNIPEG - The public is advised that all lanes and sidewalks on Higgins Avenue will be closed from Gomez Street to Argyle Street starting Friday, June 29 at 7:00 p.m. and opening Monday, July 2 at 6:00 a.m.

This closure will allow for demolition of the old Disraeli overpass near Higgins Avenue.

All Route 44 GREY and 47 TRANSCONA buses will be diverted via Main Street, Euclid Avenue, Sutherland Avenue, Annabella Street, Higgins Avenue and the Louise Bridge in both directions during the Higgins Avenue closure. Further details are available at: Winnipegtransit.com

The new Disraeli Bridges will replace the 50-year-old structures that span the Red River and the CP Rail mainline, and will rejuvenate a critical piece of Winnipeg's transportation infrastructure.
