Salt application, snow clearing completed; crews in a ready-to-serve position for forecasted snowfall

Released: January 16, 2015 at 10:31 a.m.

Winnipeg, MB - Crews have completed salting applications and snow clearing operations following warmer temperatures and light snowfall earlier this week. Routine sanding and maintenance snow clearing is now being undertaken for Priority 1 (Regional) and Priority 2 (Collector/bus) networks, as well as sanding work on Priority 3 (Residential) streets. Crews are also completing snow clearing on Priority 1 sidewalks.

In light of the forecasted snowfall for this evening and into the weekend, the City is in a ready-to-serve position for any salting and/or plowing operations that may be required.

Stay back, stay safe
Motorists are reminded to drive to road conditions and to use extreme caution when driving near any snow clearing equipment or sanding trucks.
