Executive Policy Committee recommends appointment of new City Auditor/Chief Performance Officer

Winnipeg, MB - The Executive Policy Committee (EPC) has recommended the appointment of Mr. Bryan Mansky as the City of Winnipeg's new City Auditor/Chief Performance Officer Mayor Brian Bowman announced today.

“Mr. Mansky has a consistent track record of strong departmental leadership, strong project management skills, and has extensive experience leading complex and sensitive audit projects,” said Mayor Bowman. “I look forward to his continued service with the City of Winnipeg in this new and challenging role.”

The recruitment and recommendation of Mr. Mansky was undertaken by the Auditor Selection Committee comprised of members of EPC along with Councillor Russ Wyatt and Councillor Cindy Gillroy.

As a statutory officer, the appointment of the City Auditor/Chief Performance Officer requires Council approval. Subject to Council’s approval, Mr. Mansky will assume the permanent duties of City Auditor/Chief Performance Auditor effective February 24, 2016.

Mr. Mansky has been working in the audit division with the City of Winnipeg since 1999. Since 2009, he has been the City of Winnipeg’s Deputy City Auditor. Prior to joining the City of Winnipeg, Mr. Mansky worked in the private sector as a management consultant specializing in the areas of feasibility analysis, strategic planning and the development and implementation of quality management systems (ISO 9000).

Mr. Mansky currently serves as a member of the advisory council for the new Canadian Public Sector Audit Centre. He is a Certified Internal Auditor, a Certified Management Accountant, and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Manitoba.
