Southbound Main Street at Portage Avenue reopened following closure due to water main break

Winnipeg, MB - Southbound Main Street at Portage Avenue has been reopened following a closure earlier today due to a water main break.

Crews have isolated the leak and are working to fix it. A timeline for repair of the leak is unknown at this time. No customers are currently without water service.

The Downtown area may temporally experience discoloured water as water flows return to normal. Information on discoloured water is available at City of Winnipeg - Discoloured Water FAQ.

Initial reports indicate that one business in Winnipeg Square may have experienced water damage as a result of the water main break. No damage estimate is available.
