Released: June 5, 2018 at 10:45 a.m.

Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Folk Festival and the City of Winnipeg are teaming up once again for the second edition of Folk Fest at 510, a summer concert series happening on Wednesdays starting June 6 through August 29. Folk Fest at 510 features free outdoor lunchtime concerts that will run from noon to 1 p.m. in the City Hall courtyard, 510 Main St., and showcases some of the best and brightest Manitoban artists who have participated in the Winnipeg Folk Festival's Stingray Young Performers Program.

"We are thrilled to partner once again with the Winnipeg Folk Festival to present this free summer concert series," said Michael Jack, Chief Corporate Services Officer at the City of Winnipeg. "Folk Fest at 510 creates opportunities for City Hall staff and the Exchange District and downtown communities to gather to enjoy music in the outdoors on a weekly basis."

To kick off this series on June 6, Micah Erenberg will be performing. The singer-songwriter has previously participated in the Stingray Young Performers program, and in 2018, he's a part of the festival's main lineup. Born in Matlock, Manitoba, Micah’s music has been described as charming, witty and authentic. Catch him playing Folk Fest at 510 before he plays the Winnipeg Folk Festival stages, July 5-8.

"Thanks to this partnership with the City of Winnipeg, we are able to support emerging Manitoban artists while bringing more live music to the community throughout the summer,” said Lynne Skromeda, Executive Director of the Winnipeg Folk Festival.
