Homicide – Arrest: C22-186182

Update:

The Winnipeg Police Service previously released information about a homicide on August 17, 2022 that occurred in the 100 block of Higgins Avenue. The deceased was identified as Brian Edward ANDERSON, a 40-year-old male of Winnipeg.

Investigators determined that ANDERSON was stabbed during a dispute with an unknown individual outside a hotel at approximately 2:30 a.m. Officers administered emergency medical care, and he was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced deceased. The suspect in the incident had fled the area.

The Homicide Unit continued to investigate and subsequently identified a suspect.

On August 24, 2022, the suspect was arrested in the 300 block of Blake Street.

Elijah MONEYAS, a 20-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with Second Degree Murder and detained in custody.
