Winnipeg Whiteout Street Party street closures and Transit reroutes - Round 1, Game 1

Winnipeg, MB – Road closures are coming to Downtown tomorrow to accommodate the Winnipeg Whiteout Street Party and associated set-up and teardown:

  • Southbound Donald Street between Ellice Avenue and St. Mary Avenue: Sunday, April 21 at 8 a.m. until Monday, April 22 at approximately 3 a.m.
  • Graham Avenue in both directions between Hargrave Street and Smith Street: Sunday, April 21 from 8 a.m. until Monday, April 22 at approximately 1 a.m.

The following sidewalks will also close at noon on Sunday and reopen overnight onto Monday:

  • Donald Street between Ellice Avenue and St. Mary Avenue
  • North side of Graham Avenue between Hargrave Street and Smith Street

Motorists should allow additional travel time to get to their destinations, and use alternate routes such as Main Street and Osborne Street.

Winnipeg Transit & Winnipeg Transit Plus

Winnipeg Transit buses will be rerouted off of Graham Avenue between Kennedy and Smith streets starting at 8 a.m. on Sunday, April 21. Regular service will be restored on Monday, April 22.

Buses will be unable to stop for passengers during the detour. Passengers who wish to catch buses affected by the reroutes are directed to stops at these intersections:

  • Graham Avenue and Vaughn Street
  • Graham Avenue and Fort Street
  • Donald Street and Ellice Avenue
  • Donald Street and York Avenue

During the reroutes, the Winnipeg Transit Plus loading zone on southbound Donald Street at Graham Avenue will be temporarily relocated to eastbound Portage Avenue next to the Radisson Hotel. The Millennium Library Winnipeg Transit Plus loading zone will be temporarily relocated to eastbound front driveway of the Winnipeg Police Service headquarters. The City Place Winnipeg Transit Plus loading zone will be relocated to northbound Hargrave Street on the north side of St. Mary Avenue.

The Millennium Library will be closing early on Sunday, April 21 at 4 p.m.

Millennium Library Parkade

The Donald Street entrance and exit of the Millennium Library parkade will be closed starting at 8 a.m. on Sunday, April 21. It will reopen at approximately 3 a.m. on Monday, April 22.
