Manitoba Police Canine Association

In December of 1997, the first official meeting of the M.P.C.A. was held at the Headingly Gaol. The Association is made up of all the full-time/professional canine units in the province. Our Association is represented by members of the R.C.M.P., Canada Customs, Corrections, Natural Resources, Parks Canada, Brandon City Police and the Winnipeg Police Service. Our Association participates in joint training exercises and information sharing seminars several times a year.

Manitoba Police Canine Association

The Manitoba Police Canine Association has continued to grow since our initial training day at Headingly Gaol. It now includes several quarries and other members of each of our agencies, as well as Agencies in our neighbouring province. We continue to hold several training sessions throughout the year in an effort to improve our abilities as handlers and to further develop our quarries.

Our Association has benefited each of our members and their agencies in some form and has also helped develop some long lasting friendships.

The current Executive of our Association is as follows:

President: Chris Gladney, RCMP
Vice President: Tim Cameron, Manitoba Conservation
Secretary/Treasurer: Cliff Samson, Winnipeg Police Service
