WPS-PAT UPCOMING ORIENTATION SESSIONS

  • OCTOBER 12, 2017 - 2:30-4:00PM - FULL
  • Location: WPS headquarters 245 Smith.  (Meet in the front lobby.)

    Arrive 15 mins prior to orientation , wear appropriate workout attire.

    The orientation will consist of the following:
    -walk thru the WPS-PAT
    -helpful hints on conditioning
    -technique to assist in passing the WPS-PAT
    -opportunity to try various stations after the presentation

    Please email WPS-Recruiting@winnipeg.ca for registration. Please include your name, date of birth, phone number and what session you are interested in attending.

    * You must be 18yrs of age by November 30th, 2017 to sign up for the orientations.

    * Please note, if you have already participated in a previous session you will be put on a waiting list.

    *Orientation is free of charge

    U of M Law Enforcement Conditioning Camp
    This training camp will help potential law enforcement professionals to prepare for and improve their chances of successful completion of the WPS-PAT, COPAT, PARE and other law enforcement tests. It includes cardio interval training, core training, techniques on pushpull machine, plyometrics and working specifically with elements required for any law enforcement testing.

    Dates:   Wed | Sep 20-Oct 25 | 7:30-8:45pm 
    Wed | Nov 1-Dec 6 | 7:30-8:45pm
    Duration: 6 Classes 
    Cost: $90 / Member Price: 20% off
    Location: Multi-Purpose Studio 274, Active Living Centre

    Auxiliary Cadets are peace officers that work throughout the city to enhance the Service’s visual presence, build positive relationships in the community and allow police members to focus on core police duties. A Cadet’s daily activities vary and include

    • conducting neighborhood foot patrol
    • guarding crime scenes
    • directing traffic
    • assisting in ground searches
    • receiving minor property and motor vehicle reports
    • enforcing provincial statutes and municipal by-laws
    • referring citizens to assisting agencies

    As with police officers and staff, the Auxiliary Cadets have to exemplify the core competencies of City of Winnipeg employees:

    Applicants chosen for these positions may be selected as full or part-time employees.
