Homicide
Suspect Arrested
On Saturday, August 16, 2003, as a result of an ongoing investigation by the Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit, a male was arrested in connection with the murder of Trevor Wiebe on January 5, 2003. Charged with 1st. Degree Murder is: Shawn Michael JAMES, 18 yrs., of Winnipeg.
Commercial Robbery
On Sunday, August 17, 2003, at approx. 8:24 p.m., the Domo Gas Bar at 1081 Ellice Av. was the victim of a Robbery. The lone clerk was approached by 2 males, 1 of which was brandishing a knife. The suspects demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. There were no injuries reported. Description of suspects: 2 males, possibly aboriginal in appearance, 17- 19 yrs.. The investigation continues.
Commercial Robbery
On Sunday, August 17, 2003, at approx. 4:40 p.m., the Domo Gas Bar at 220 Meadowood Dr was the victim of a Robbery. The lone clerk was approached by 2 male suspects, 1 of which was brandishing a knife, who demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. There were no injuries reported. The suspects are described as :2 white males, 5’10”, 170 lbs., medium builds (1 suspect was slightly smaller build than the other). The investigation continues.
Commercial Robbery
On Sunday, August 17, 2003, at approx. 9:10 p.m., the Domo Gas Bar at McPhillips and Mountain was the victim of a Robbery. Two male suspects approached the lone clerk, 1 male brandishing a machete and the second suspect had a pipe. The suspects demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. There were no injuries reported. The suspects are described as 1 white male, and 1 black male ,both about 5’10”, thin builds. The investigation continues.
Commercial Robbery
On Monday, August 18, 2003, at approx. 2:52 a.m., the Domo Gas Bar at 1883 Portage Av., was the victim of a Robbery. The lone clerk was approached by two male suspects, one of whom was brandishing a knife. The suspects demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. There were no injuries reported. The suspects are described as : 1 white male, 1 native male, late 20’s in age, 5’8”, 180 lbs.. The investigation continues.
