Shooting Incident
On January 1st, 2006 at 4:30 a.m., police attended to the 300 block of Magnus Avenue in response to a shooting that occurred at that location.
The Winnipeg Police Major Crimes Unit is currently investigating the matter and there are no further details are available at this time.
Update
One male is deceased as a result of injuries sustained in the shooting. His name is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
The investigation is continuing by The Winnipeg Police Major Crimes Unit.

On January 1st, 2006 at 3:30 a.m., police attended to the corner of Main Street and Machray Avenue in response to a shooting that occurred at that location. This shooting is not believed to be related to the shooting incident on Magnus Avenue.
The Winnipeg Police Service Major Crimes Unit is currently investigating the matter and no further details are currently available.
Commercial Robbery
On December 31st, 2005 at 6:00pm, two males brandishing knives entered a drugstore in the 700 block of Keewatin Street and demanded money and cigarettes. The males fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and left in an older model van.
The suspects are still outstanding and are described as follows:
- Male, 5'3”, slim build, wearing a black winter jacket with a hood, a black balaclava and black gloves
- Male, 5'5”, wearing a black winter jacket with the hood up and a black balaclava and black gloves
The investigation is continuing by The Winnipeg Police Service Major Crimes Unit.
