Weapons Offences

On January 12th, 2006, members of the Winnipeg Police Service attended to a Winnipeg High School to investigate an allegation that a student would be attending to school to sell a firearm. The investigation led police to recover a BB gun and a rifle.

A 14 year old male is now facing charges of Careless Storage, Unauthorized Possession and other weapons possession charges.

 

Possess Counterfeit Money

On January 12th, 2006, shortly before 9:00 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service Commercial Crime Unit attended to an address in the 200 block of River Road. Officers located a significant amount of counterfeit money and instruments to make counterfeit money.

A 37 year old female is facing charges of Possess and Make Counterfeit Money and Possess Counterfeit instruments.

Update

Today the Winnipeg Police Service released information regarding a 37 year old female who is now facing charges of Possess and Make Counterfeit Money and Possess Counterfeit Instruments.

$1,550.00 in fifty and hundred dollar bills were seized.

 

Missing Person Located

On January 12th, 2006, the Winnipeg Police Service released information regarding missing person Douglas Gray, 85 years of age of Winnipeg. Mr. Gray had been missing since January 11th at 3:30 p.m.

Mr. Gray was located today by Natural Resource Officers at the Hecla Island Marina and has been taken to hospital in unresponsive condition.

 

Suspicious Person

On January 11th, shortly before 9:30 a.m. a 13 year old female was approached by an unknown male in a four door vehicle, in the area of Burrows Avenue and Keewatin Street.

This male rolled down the window in the car and began talking to the female. The female ignored him and continued walking. This male then got out of his car, approached her from behind and grabbed a hold of her. He stated that he would be picking her up after school because he knew what she looked like. The 13 year old female was able to flee the area and contacted police.

The suspect is described as Aboriginal in appearance, 20 years of age, 5'8, slim build, short brown hair, wearing a black leather jacket, grey watch and white shoes.

The suspects vehicle is described as a charcoal grey, four door car with tinted rear windows.

The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting anyone with information regarding this incident or the identity of this suspect to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Child Abuse Unit at 204-986-6245 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
