On January 13th, 2006 at 11:15 p.m., a forty-five year old male was walking in the area of the 400 block of Bertrand Street when he was approached by a male brandishing a knife and demanding money.

The victim confronted the suspect resulting in the suspect male fleeing the area in a vehicle, empty-handed.  The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect is described as male, approximately 5’11” tall with a thin build, wearing a black balaclava, a black ¾ length winter jacket and dark pants.

The suspect vehicle is described as a two to three year old dark blue Volkswagen or Toyota.

The Winnipeg Police Service are requesting that anyone with information pertaining to this incident contact police at 204-986-6222.



On January 13th, 2006 at 11:20 p.m., a twenty-five year old female was waiting for a bus at the intersection of Taché Avenue and Dollard Boulevard when a male brandishing a knife approached her and robbed her of her wallet and cell-phone.  The male then fled the area.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned male, under thirty years of age, 5’9”-5’10” tall with a thin build wearing a black or blue bandana over his face, a dark hoodie, blue jeans and a dark jacket.

The Winnipeg Police Service is of the opinion that this robbery may be connected with the previously reported robbery and are requesting anyone with information on either incident contact us at 204-986-6222.
