On January 14th, 2006, members of the Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit assisted by the Winnipeg Police Emergency Response Unit attended to a residence in the 200 block of Machray Avenue.
A thirty year old male from Winnipeg was arrested at that location and charged with 2nd Degree Murder in connection with the January 6th, 2006 murder of Brock Leslie KOSACK.
The male has been detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
The investigation is ongoing by the Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit.
On January 13th, 2006 at 11:30 p.m., three males attended a bar in the 1100 block of Logan Avenue and became involved in a dispute with other patrons. The males left the bar but returned a short time later with one of the males having armed himself with a gun. The males continued to argue with other patrons and left the bar once again. Police attended and located the three involved males.
Thirty-two year old Malcolm David Amos of Winnipeg was arrested and charged with Possess Prohibited Weapon, Careless Use of a Firearm, Carry Concealed Weapon and Possess Cocaine as well as other drug and firearm related charges.
Thirty-four year old Allen Raymond Morrison of Winnipeg was arrested and charged with Fail to Comply with Recognizance X 3.
Both males have been detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
The third male involved in the incident was not charged with any offences.
On January 14th, 2006 at 01:40 a.m., a number of people became involved in a dispute in a bar in the 1100 block of Arlington Street. A male left the bar and re-attended with a gun, which resulted in his being arrested by police.
Twenty-two year old Victor Alexander RYLE of Winnipeg has been charged with a number of Firearms related charges, including Possess Prohibited Weapon, Possess Firearm with Altered Serial Number and Possess Firearm while Prohibited.
RYLE has been detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
On January 15th, 2006 at 12:15 a.m., two males, one armed with a gun, entered a restaurant in the 1300 block of McPhillips Street and demanded money. The two males then fled the restaurant with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The first suspect is described as a white male, 58-6 tall, of average build, dark blond wavy hair wearing a blue and black jacket, black baseball cap, black neck warmer, black pants and black sunglasses. This male was brandishing the gun during the robbery.
The second suspect is described as 58-62 tall, of average build wearing dark clothing.
The Winnipeg Police Service are requesting that anyone with information pertaining to this incident contact police at 204-986-6222 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
On January 14th, 2006 at 11:50 p.m., two males armed with a crowbar and a hammer entered a convenience store in the 700 block of St. Marys Road, ordered the clerk to the floor and demanded money.
The suspects obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes and fled the store.
Both suspects are described as male, late teens to early twenties, 510-6 tall wearing black jeans, black toques, black neck warmers and gloves. One of the males was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt with skateboarder in a circle with a red line across it.
