Cankerworm Control Program

Cankerworm treatment crews will only be treating selected streets within each IMA that have or are at risk of significant defoliation. Not all streets within an IMA will be treated for cankerworms.

IMAs to be sprayed will be announced at least 8 hours in advance of spraying operations.

The City of Winnipeg controls cankerworms on City-owned trees using the biological insecticide Foray® (Bacillus thuringiensis var. kurstaki - Btk).
