Permits Online
Welcome to Permits Online - your one-stop-shop to manage the permit process.
A variety of permits are available for online application for homeowners and contractors. All customers can create an account to take full advantage of Permits Online. Once your account is activated, you can manage your active permits and applications by tracking the status, submitting documents, and making payments.
Permit applications that are not available online must be applied for via email to the Zoning and Permits Office at ppd-permit@winnipeg.ca.

Note: Customers with other types of projects (e.g. demolitions, additions, repairs/alterations) must submit their application via email. If you would like to submit an application to demolish an existing structure and construct a new structure at the same time, please submit both applications together via email. Please refer to the Digital Building Permit Submission webpage for more information.

All registered Permits Online users can:
- View a list of required documents for Life Safety Tests and Occupancy online.
- Submit required documents online.
- Track the status of active Occupancy Permits (including document review, inspections, and outstanding items of non-compliance).
- Pay occupancy fees online.
- Submit requests for occupancy online using a web form.

Note: If your permit application requires supporting documentation (plans, elevations, etc.), please submit one PDF copy when using the Permits Online, Submit Docs feature.

City of Winnipeg staff will process the Permits Online applications Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

- Permit Search by Address - Search for construction-related permits by address. You can search for issued, closed and expired permits dating back to January 1, 2000.
- Occupancy Permit Search - Search for occupancy permits by address. This search returns issued Permits after December, 1998. Search results do not include permits that were cancelled, expired, or are currently in the application process.
