Can I file an application for revision for my Business Annual Rental Value (ARV) Assessment between General Assessment years?
Yes, you may file an application for revision for your Business ARV Assessment between General Assessment years.
A public notice appears in both daily newspapers to remind business owners of this important deadline.
You may also file an application for revision for a Supplementary Assessment Notice which may be issued by the Assessment and Taxation Department if there is a change in the details on a prior notice (for example: name, description, address, changes to business value, etc.).
If you have concerns about your assessment, you should act promptly to have your concerns addressed.

What is the application for revision filing period for the 2020 Business ARV Assessment?
You may file an application for revision on your 2020 Business ARV Assessment between November 1, 2019 at 8:30 a.m. and November 26, 2019 at 4:30 pm.
Applications for revision for the 2020 Business ARV Assessment must be filed no later than Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 4:30 p.m. Your completed application for revision must include the appropriate non-refundable filing fee.

Will I always receive a Business ARV Assessment Notice between General Assessments?
No. You may receive a new assessment notice for a variety of reasons including:
- Ownership changes (initiated through Land Titles):
- new owner(s)
- change in title (change in name or title holders)
- Building alteration/demolition permit resulting in a change to assessed value, classification or liability:
- additions to property (garage, deck, air conditioning, basement finish, etc.)
- renovations/alterations
- demolitions
- conversion from multi-family to single family or single family to multi-family
- Inquiry resulting in a change to assessed value, classification or liability. Assessor has inspected property for:
- structural problems
- correcting property features
- neighbourhood review

Yes, a public notice is placed in the Winnipeg Free Press, Winnipeg Sun and La Liberté in the first two weeks in November.
Do I have to pay the non-refundable fee at the same time that I file an application for revision?
Yes, the non-refundable filing fee must accompany the application for revision.

No. If you miss the application for revision filing deadline, in any given year, you must wait until the next year to file an application for revision.

This information will be used as part of the record of hearing bodies and will not be used or disclosed for any other purposes, except as authorized by law.
