WINNIPEG - Mayor Sam Katz today thanked World Soccer Academy (WSA) Winnipeg and Manitoba Major Soccer League for their commitment to bringing soccer to inner city youth.

WSA Winnipeg and Manitoba Major Soccer League today announced they have given 1,000 tickets for WSA Winnipeg's June 1 home game against the Des Moines Menace to United Way Winnipeg and West Broadway Youth Outreach for distribution to inner city youth.

"It's great to see that soccer forces are uniting to grow the beautiful game in Winnipeg," said Mayor Sam Katz. "WSA Winnipeg and Manitoba Major Soccer League are doing their very best to make soccer available to all young people in Winnipeg."
WSA Winnipeg players are also running free clinics and participating in mentorship programs with inner city youth to highlight what soccer has to offer.

"Winnipeg is a host city for the Women's World Cup in 2015," said Lee Haber, WSA Winnipeg Business Director. "We're looking forward to showcasing what Winnipeg has to offer to the entire international soccer community."
