Community Forums held to discuss recreational programming in Daniel McIntyre ward

Winnipeg, MB - The public is invited to two forums that will be taking place to look at the recreational needs of the Daniel McIntyre ward.

These sessions will take place at the following locations:

Thursday, November 14, 7:00 p.m - 9:00 p.m
Magnus Eliason Recreational Centre
430 Langside Street

Monday, November 18, 7:00 p.m - 9:00 p.m
Robert A. Steen Community Centre
980 Palmerston Avenue

The City of Winnipeg’s Community Services Department awarded a contract to Winnipeg based Probe Research Inc. to spend the next several weeks assessing the recreational needs in the Daniel MacIntyre ward which includes the 81-year-old Sherbrook Pool.

The consultation process also involves one-on-one interviews with community stakeholders, sessions with targeted organizations and surveys with residents.

City Council approved a recommendation in June, 2013 to move ahead with consultations on a recreational needs assessment for this area.
