City of Winnipeg provides 2014 Election information through social media

Winnipeg, MB - The City of Winnipeg has launched a Facebook page and Twitter account, dedicated to providing information on the 2014 City of Winnipeg Election.

The 2014 General Civic Election for the City of Winnipeg will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014. Eligible voters have the opportunity to cast ballots for Mayor, Councillors and School Trustees.

The City of Winnipeg 2014 Election Facebook page and Twitter account will provide residents with up to date information on the 2014 Election. For convenience, both are easily accessible on the Election mobile app through a button named “Election Buzz.” Election Buzz provides a direct link to both Facebook and Twitter and provides an instant feed of up to date information.

“It is important that all aspects of social media are utilized to help keep the public informed about the 2014 Election,” said Marc Lemoine, Senior Election Official. “We want to engage residents in as many ways as possible and increase participation in the 2014 Election.”

Information regarding the election is available by contacting the City of Winnipeg Contact Centre at 311 or by visiting the City of Winnipeg’s web page winnipeg.ca/2014election.
