Winnipeg, MB - Based on the current forecast and the warmer temperatures forecasted throughout today, the City has moved into a salt application on the Priority 1 (Regional) and Priority 2 (Collector/bus route) networks.
This operation will be continuous to address any freshly fallen snow and will help to remove compacted snow on the pavement after a plowing operation. The focus will be on restoring bare pavement on our Regional and Collector/bus networks.
Salt is effective for this type of operation due to the warmer temperatures.
Stay back, stay safe
Motorists are reminded to drive to road conditions and to use extreme caution when driving near any snow clearing equipment or sanding trucks.
