A School Trustee By-Election for the Winnipeg School Division (Ward 7) will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016. Eligible voters will have the opportunity to cast a ballot for one candidate for the Office of School Trustee.
The Senior Election Official will be accepting Nomination Papers for the office of School Trustee in the Winnipeg School Division (Ward 7) commencing Saturday, September 24, 2016, ending at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2016, at the City Clerk's Department, Administration Building, 510 Main Street, Winnipeg, during the following times:
Saturday, September 24 - 12 noon to 4:00 p.m.
Sunday, September 25 - CLOSED
Monday, September 26 - 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Tuesday, September 27 to Friday, September 30, 2016 - 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The deadline to file is 4:30 p.m., Friday, September 30, 2016.
Persons eligible to be a candidate for School Trustee must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be a Canadian Citizen;
- Be 18 years old or older on By-Election Day, November 5, 2016;
- Be a resident in the School Division since May 5, 2016; and
- Not be disqualified by law.
NOMINATION PAPERS
Commencing September 24, 2016 individuals seeking election may obtain Nomination Papers from the City Clerk's Department, Main Floor, Administration Building, 510 Main Street, from the Winnipeg School Division office, or by accessing the forms on the City of Winnipeg website.
Nomination Papers must be filed in-person, on the prescribed form and must have a minimum of 25 signatures from voters who live in the ward in which they are seeking election and whose names appear on the Voters List.
Deadline for Withdrawal
Candidates may withdraw their nomination, in person, until 4:30 p.m., Saturday, October 1, 2016.
