Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service Update: Bertrand Street and Aikins Street Fires

Winnipeg, MB – At 6:22 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2018, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews responded to reports of a house fire in the 200 block of Bertrand Street. Once on scene, crews worked to extinguish fire in a two-storey wood-framed home. The fire was declared under control at 7:04 p.m.

All occupants of the home had self-evacuated prior to crews’ arrival and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no damage estimates are available at this time.

At 1:31 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2018, WFPS crews responded to reports of fire in the 300 block of Aikins Street. Once on scene, crews launched an offensive attack to extinguish a fire in a wood-framed bungalow duplex.

The house was unoccupied at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no damage estimates are available at this time.
