The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the City and ATU is a 48-month term from January 2019 until January 2023, and includes general wage adjustments of 1.25% in January 2020; 2% in January 2021; 1.75% in January 2022; and 2% in January 2023.
Additional changes include:
- Improvements to working conditions on topics including but not limited to bus route scheduling, Operator Improvement Education, Passenger Education, Critical Incident Stress Management, Shift Trading, and a Wind Down Retired Employee Plan that allows retired employees to work part time. Increases to shift premiums, tool and boot allowances, and vision exams
- A $1 per hour wage increase to mechanics and skilled trades in 2022
The next steps in the approval process include the MOA being considered at the next meeting of the Executive Policy Committee scheduled for Thursday October 17, 2019. The MOA will then need to be approved by Council in order to be ratified.
