Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to house fire on Roseberry Street

Winnipeg, MB – At 8:12 p.m. on January 13, 2020, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a vacant, one-and-a-half storey home under renovations in the 100 block of Roseberry Street. Upon arrival on scene, crews encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the home and launched a defensive attack. Once some of the flames were knocked down, crews transitioned to an interior offensive attack to complete the extinguishment of the fire. The fire was declared under control at 11:03 p.m.

Crews completed a search of the home and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire will be under investigation. While damage estimates are not available at this time, the house suffered significant fire, smoke and water damage.
