Released: October 27, 2020 at 11:54 a.m.

Winnipeg, MB – Curbside yard waste collection for 2020 is coming to an end.

  • Yard waste collection in “area A” will end the week of November 2-6, 2020
  • Yard waste collection in “area B” will end the week of November 9-14, 2020

Residents are reminded there will be no collection on Remembrance Day (Wednesday, November 11). If your collection day falls on or after the holiday, your recycling, garbage and yard waste will be collected one day later for that week only.

Residents can find out if their yard waste collection is “area A” or “area B” by:

Residents can put their yard waste in:

  • Any reusable container without a lid (e.g., plastic tubs, old blue boxes, old metal or plastic garbage containers). Containers should not be broken or damaged.
  • Cardboard boxes
  • Paper yard waste bags

Halloween pumpkins are accepted in the yard waste collection program, as long as candles and decorations are removed.

Residents are reminded to place their yard waste containers to the side of their recycling and garbage carts, and to leave an arm’s length between their yard waste containers and their recycling and garbage carts. Do not rake any yard waste material or debris onto the street as this can plug the street drains and cause ponding problems, as well as increase the risk of basement flooding.

Residents can also take their yard waste to the 4R Winnipeg Depots located at 1777 Brady Rd., 1120 Pacific Ave., and 429 Panet Rd. For more information on the 4R Winnipeg Depots, including hours of operation, please visit: winnipeg.ca/4Rdepot.
