Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to two fires on College Avenue this morning.
At 3:51 a.m. on April 26, 2021, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a vacant, two-storey house in the 300 block of College Avenue.
Upon arrival on scene crews encountered light smoke coming from the house and launched an offensive attack. The fire was declared under control at 4:24 a.m.
Crews completed a search of the structure and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
Several hours later, at 7:03 a.m., WFPS responded to a second fire on College Avenue, this time in a vacant two-and-a-half storey house in the 500 block.
When crews arrived on scene, heavy smoke was coming from the house. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 7:22 a.m.
A search of the house was completed and no occupants were located. No injuries were reported.
This fire will be under investigation. No damage estimates are currently available.
