Winnipeg, MB – At 7:04 p.m. on May 22, 2021, a Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crew spotted a fire in a vacant, three-storey, multi-family house while returning to their station from a call. Additional crews were dispatched to the location in the 500 block of William Avenue.
When crews arrived on scene, they encountered heavy smoke coming from the house and launched an offensive fire attack. The fire was declared under control at 7:40 p.m. The house suffered extensive smoke, fire, and water damage.
Crews completed a search of the structure and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time. This was the second fire at this house this month. Crews responded to a fire at the same location on May 9, 2021.
