Winnipeg, MB – The City of Winnipeg is now accepting applications for the fourth Community Safety and Crime Prevention Program funding period.

The Community Safety and Crime Prevention Program was established to provide funding to support community-level activities that strengthen local crime prevention and community safety efforts, promote the exchange of information between community residents, and help build closer relationships between communities and the Winnipeg Police Service.

The Program’s 2022 application intake period is open until July 22, 2022. Program funds will be awarded by September 2022 and must be expended by September 30, 2023. Fund applications will be approved to a maximum of $5,000 per application. Application criteria apply.

Through the 2019 Budget process, Council approved a transfer of $100,000 annually for four years from the Civic Initiatives, Promotional and Protocol grant program to support this crime prevention initiative.
