Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Pritchard Avenue and Redwood Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to multiple fires from Tuesday night to early Wednesday morning.

Pritchard Avenue Fire

At 7:24 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a vacant, two-storey house in the 600 block of Pritchard Avenue.

When crews arrived on-scene, they located a fire in an outbuilding attached to the house. They launched an offensive attack, declaring the fire under control at 8:12 p.m.

A search of the building was conducted but no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.

Fire damage was contained to the outbuilding. The house and garage have heavy damage from previous fire activity. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.

Redwood Avenue Fire

At 9:53 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a one-and-a-half-storey house in the 700 block of Redwood Avenue.

Once on-scene, crews found smoke showing from the windows. They launched an offensive attack. The fire was declared under control before 11:03 p.m.

No residents were home at the time of the fire. A search of the building was conducted but no additional occupants were found. No injuries were reported.

Fire damage was contained to one floor. The cause of the fire remains under investigation and no damage estimates are available at this time.
