Community presentations

TakeAction is a program designed to enhance community safety by educating the citizens of Winnipeg on easy, practical steps they can take to develop a personal safety strategy.

The Winnipeg Police Service supports the TakeAction program by proactively promoting public education and awareness on ways to prevent crime, through crime awareness presentations.

The Safety & Crime Prevention team will connect with your group in person or through online virtual presentations.

Presentations offered by the Winnipeg Police Service include:

  • Active shooter workplace safety
  • Crime awareness
  • Drug awareness
  • Frauds and scams
  • Introduction to the Winnipeg Police (newcomers).
  • Personal safety
  • Personal safety for seniors
  • Sexual Abuse in Sport

Due to demand, we request you contact us at least four weeks prior to the event. All presentations are free of charge, most are one hour in duration. Upon receiving your request a WPS represented will be in contact to make arrangements.

School presentations

The school engagement team partners with schools across Winnipeg to share crime prevention and safety awareness presentations specifically for young people.

Presentations are offered on a number of topics, including:

  • Safety
  • Online safety
  • WPS (Career & overview)
  • Gang awareness
  • Drug awareness
  • Bullying
  • Young Drivers/Youth & Law Other

Request a presentation for your classroom. All presentations are free of charge, most are one hour in duration.
