The Winnipeg Police Service will be hosting an Auxiliary Cadet information session at the University of Manitoba for U of M students and faculty on:

Tuesday November 6th, 2018 from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM

The Winnipeg Police Service is offering an exciting and challenging career opportunity for honest and trustworthy individuals of high moral character to fill positions of Auxiliary Cadets.

You are invited to attend an information session for an overview of the Winnipeg Police Cadet Unit and what is involved in the selection process.

Auxiliary Cadets are peace officers that work throughout the city to enhance the Service’s visual presence, build positive relationships in the community and allow police members to focus on core police duties. A Cadet’s daily activities vary and include

  • conducting neighborhood foot patrol
  • guarding crime scenes
  • directing traffic
  • assisting in ground searches
  • receiving minor property and motor vehicle reports
  • enforcing provincial statutes and municipal by-laws
  • referring citizens to assisting agencies

As with police officers and staff, the Auxiliary Cadets have to exemplify the core competencies of City of Winnipeg employees:
