For Immediate Release

MISSING PERSON – Kiara MAY: R18-14687

The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing  29-year-old female, Kiara MAY. 

MAY last had contact with family in mid-March of 2018 and is believed to be in Winnipeg.

She is described as White, 5’3” in height, thin build, with long curly brown hair and hazel eyes. MAY was last seen wearing blue jeans and black boots.

The Winnipeg Police Service is concerned about MAY's well-being and is asking anyone with any information regarding her whereabouts to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at 204-986-6250.


Sexual Exploitation Countermeasures

During the evening of April 5, 2018, officers from the Counter Exploitation Unit, as part of their ongoing operations, conducted a project centred mainly in the West End neighbourhood of Winnipeg.

The project’s aim was to target johns preying on vulnerable individuals being exploited in the sex trade.

As a result, 7 adult males were arrested ranging in age from 29 to 73. They were all charged with Obtaining Sexual Services for Consideration and released on a Promise to Appear. 6 of the accused were diverted to John School (diversion program). In addition, the accused had their vehicles seized under the Highway Traffic Act. 


Homicide Investigation – Public Assistance Requested: C18-68311

Winnipeg Police homicide investigators are requesting the public’s assistance in locating 2 suspects in the murder of Gilbert Chartrand. Chartrand was killed during the early evening on April 4, 2018 in the 500 block of Agnes Street.

Arrest Warrants for Second Degree Murder have been issued for the following 2 suspects:

Jerome Devon KAKAGAMIC, 24
6’0”, 172lbs.

Faron Junior HENDERSON
6’1”, 185lbs.

Both HENDERSON and KAKAGAMIC are considered armed and dangerous and are not to be approached under any circumstance.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to contact either members of the Homicide Unit at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
