Weapons - Arrest: C18-268854

On December 5, 2018, at approximately 12:45 a.m., Central District General Patrol members conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of Main Street. Officers observed the driver switch places with a passenger. Three adult males and an adult female were in the vehicle and asked to exit.

The driver was exhibiting signs of drug intoxication and placed under arrest. Upon searching the driver officers located a needle containing methamphetamine, four shotgun shells, two cell phones, and approximately $200 in Canadian currency.

All three passengers were arrested and searched. A methamphetamine needle, cell phone, a loaded zip gun, three .22 caliber cartridges and 12 gauge shotgun shell were located.

Officers also located a loaded 12 gauge shotgun, several .22 caliber cartridges and 12 gauge shotgun shells, small baggies, a digital scale, 18 hydro morphine pills, and one .25 gram rock of crack cocaine in the vehicle.

Upon arrival at Winnipeg Police Headquarters, the female was found to be in possession of two bags containing 8 grams of methamphetamine which she had concealed under her clothing.

Harold James Maytwayashing, a 37-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with:

  • Store Firearm or Restricted Weapons Contrary to Regulations
  • Possess Weapon
  • Carry Concealed Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon in Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Cocaine
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized X2
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order X2
  • Driving While Ability Impaired
  • Fail to Refuse to Provide Sample - Drug Evaluation
  • Drive Without Licence or With Invalid Licence
  • Fail to Have Required Equipment
  • Possession of Methamphetamine

Gary Leo Joseph CARRIERE, a 42-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with:

  • Store Firearm or Restricted Weapons Contrary to Regulations X2
  • Possess Weapon X2
  • Carry Concealed Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition X2
  • Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized X8
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon in Motor Vehicle X2
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm X2
  • Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Hydro morphine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Cocaine
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order X8

He was also arrested on a Canada Wide warrant for Unlawfully at Large.

Timothy Jordan HASTINGS, a 29-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with:

  • Store Firearm or Restricted Weapons Contrary to Regulations
  • Possess Weapon
  • Carry Concealed Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon in Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Cocaine
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized X3
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order X3
  • Possession of Methamphetamine

Morgan Cale BRUYERE, a 23-year-old female of Powerview-Pinefalls has been charged with:

  • Store Firearm or Restricted Weapons Contrary to Regulations
  • Possess Weapon
  • Carry Concealed Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon in Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Cocaine
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Breach of Recognizance

All four have been detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
