Attempt Murder - C18-284937

On December 25, 2018, at approximately 3:20 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a residence in the 600 block of Toronto Street for a report of a female that had been stabbed.

Upon arrival, a female in her 20’s was located suffering from serious injuries. She was transported to hospital in unstable condition and has since been upgraded to stable condition.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation and believe that the victim had been at the residence on Toronto Street when a female (known to the victim) confronted the victim and stabbed her numerous times. During the attack, the female also stole the victim’s residence keys.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., investigators located the suspect at a hotel in the 1600 block of Ellice Avenue and placed her under arrest.

Vera Raquel Grieves, an 18-year-old female of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

- Attempt to Commit Murder
- Robbery

She was detained in custody.
