Manitoba Motorcycle Ride for Dad
The TELUS Motorcycle Ride for Dad (MRFD) is a Canada-wide fundraiser for prostate cancer research and education. The MRFD is led by the Winnipeg Police Association and brings together motorcycle enthusiasts, members of the business community, the media and community leaders in the fight against prostate cancer. This year marks the 11th annual Ride for Dad in Manitoba which takes place on Saturday, May 25, 2019.
The Winnipeg Police Service is proud to continue to support this very special fundraising and awareness event which is spear-headed by the Winnipeg Police Association and locally presented by PlayNow.com.
The Manitoba Motorcycle Ride for Dad is one of the Winnipeg Police Associations largest charitable endeavors. Last year, 1,440 riders participated in the event, raising more than $320,000. Since the inaugural Manitoba Motorcycle Ride for Dad in 2009, the event has raised more than 2.2 million dollars in support of prostate cancer research and awareness in Manitoba. This year’s goal is to bring awareness to the fight against prostate cancer by increasing registered riders, adding to last year’s successful fundraising total.
The 2019 Ride for Dad takes place on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. The ride will start at 1455 Portage Avenue, Earls Kitchen & Bar, and continue westbound on Portage Avenue to Assiniboia Downs and north to Gimli, Selkirk and back to Winnipeg.
