Homicide – Update: C19-82183
On April 18, 2019, at approximately 3:10 a.m., emergency services personnel responded to the area of the rail line in the 1000 block of Selkirk Avenue for a report of a male that had been shot.
Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male. The male was transported to hospital in critical condition where he was pronounced deceased.
The deceased victim has been identified as Joselito Fernandez, a 53-year-old male of Winnipeg.
Homicide investigators are now asking the public for their assistance. Anyone in the area that has access to video surveillance or may have heard/seen something unusual overnight is asked to contact the Homicide Unit at 204-986-6508.
Other information that may assist investigators can also be provided to the Homicide Unit or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
Commercial Robbery/Hate Crime – Investigation: C19-82871
On April 18, 2019, at approximately 10:45 p.m., emergency services personnel responded to a Medic call at a restaurant located in the 1800 block of Corydon Ave.
Responders located an adult female within the café who had been assaulted. She was conveyed to hospital in stable condition where she was treated and released.
Officers determined that the business was likely the target of a robbery. In addition, the entire restaurant had been severely vandalized. The vandalism included property damage and spray-painted, hate-related graffiti.
The Winnipeg Police Service Major Crimes Unit is investigating this as a hate-related crime in conjunction with a Commercial Robbery.

Missing Person – Garry Albert Beaudry: C19-69725
The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public's assistance with locating Garry Albert Beaudry, a 62-year-old of Winnipeg.
Garry was last seen on March 26, 2019, in the area of the Salvation Army Winnipeg Booth Centre at 180 Henry Avenue.
He is described as a Caucasian in appearance, 5’7” in height, 200 lbs in weight and having a heavy build, brown eyes and black/grey hair.
The Winnipeg Police Service is concerned for his well-being and is asking anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at 204-986-6250.
