Commercial Robbery – Arrest: C19-89091

On April 25, 2019, at approximately 9:10 pm, members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a robbery at a restaurant in the 500 block of Notre Dame Avenue. A male attended to the lounge area, approached the counter and produced what appeared to be gun. The male then pointed the gun at an employee and demanded money.

Patrons within the restaurant approached the male from behind and were able to disarm and hold him. Officers arrived a short time later and arrested the male who was found to have an improvised firing device in his possession. The male was also found to be in possession of a knife and various calibre ammunition.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation.

Eric John LECOY, a 52-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with.

- Robbery
- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (X3)
- Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Use of Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence
- Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Pointing a Firearm
- Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized (X3)
- Possession of a Weapon

He was detained in custody.

Missing Person – Gerri Gibeault: R19-21361

The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Gerri Gibeault, a missing 29-year-old female.

Gerri was last seen in the North Kildonan area of Winnipeg on March 22, 2019, and she is known to frequent the North End area.

She is described as an Indigenous in appearance, 5'6" in height with a thin build and having brown eyes. She also has thinning/very short brown hair and may be wearing a dark brown wavy-haired wig.

The Winnipeg Police Service is concerned about Gibeault’s well-being and is asking anyone with any information regarding her whereabouts to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at 204-986-6250.
