Motor Vehicle Collision – Investigation: C18-84579
On April 26, 2018, at approximately 12:35 a.m., emergency personnel responded to the intersection of Grant Avenue and Elmhurst Road for a report of a two-vehicle collision involving a dump truck and a car.
The adult male driver and an adult female passenger in the car were transported to the hospital, one in critical condition, one unstable. Both have been upgraded to stable condition and remain in hospital at this time.
The driver of the dump truck was uninjured.
Update
On May 29, 2019, members of the Traffic Collision Investigation Section arrested the 30-year-old male driver for Drive While Ability Impaired Causing Bodily Harm, Driving with More than 80 mg of Alcohol in Blood, and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
He has been released on an Appearance Notice.
Attempted Murder – Arrest: C19-100792
On May 8, 2019, at approximately 9:20 p.m., emergency services personnel responded to a report of an injured female in the area of Dufferin Ave. and McKenzie St. Upon arrival, a 48-year-old female was located suffering from a stab wound to her torso area. She was transported to a hospital in unstable condition where she underwent emergency treatment.
The victim advised that a male, previously unknown to her, approached her in the area and after a short conversation, she walked with him to a secluded spot nearby. At this location, she was assaulted, stabbed, and threatened.
Major Crimes Unit members were able to identify a suspect, and on May 29, 2019, arrested an adult male.
Scott Andrew GERZANIC, a 43-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- Attempt to Commit Murder
- Obtaining Sexual Services for Consideration
He has been detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
