Missing Person - Rylee PIERCE: R19-54183
The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in locating 13-year-old Rylee PIERCE. She was last seen on August 14 in the Valley Gardens area of Winnipeg.
PIERCE is described as Caucasian, 5'2, 125 lbs with dark brown hair that has been dyed black and hazel eyes. Pierce has 2 lip piercings and was last seen wearing a black hoodie.
The Winnipeg Police Service is concerned for Pierce's wellbeing and is asking anyone with information regarding her whereabouts to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at 204-986-6250 or Crimestoppers.
Homicide – Update: C19-192164
On August 17, 2019, Winnipeg Police released information on the death of a male in his 30’s that had been assaulted in the area of Tylehurst St. and Wolelely Ave. the previous day.
The charges against Alexander Agnus McPherson have now been upgraded to Manslaughter. McPherson remains in custody.
As previously released:
On August 16, 2019, at approximately 5:20 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the area of Tylehurst Street and Wolseley Avenue West for a report of a male that had been assaulted earlier and was now unresponsive.
Upon arrival, an injured male in his 30’s was transported to hospital in critical condition.
A male suspect was taken into custody and members of the Homicide Unit, along with the Major Crimes Unit, continued with the investigation. It is believed that the suspect and the victim were known to each other, and a dispute had occurred which escalated to a serious assault.
Alexander Agnus McPherson, a 29-year-old male of Winnipeg, was charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
He was detained in custody.
This morning, the Winnipeg Police Service was notified that the victim has since succumbed. Members of the Homicide Unit continue to investigate.
Commercial Robbery – Arrests: C19-192247
The Winnipeg Police Service Major Crimes Unit have made arrests in two armed robberies that occurred during the evening of August 16, 2019.
At approximately 6:50 p.m. two suspects entered a pharmacy located in the 1100 block of Henderson Hwy. One suspect armed with a handgun and one with a sawed-off shotgun. They fled with an undisclosed amount of cash to a waiting vehicle driven by a third suspect.
At approximately 8:55 p.m. 2 suspects entered a hotel vendor located in the 1000 block of McPhillips St., one armed with a handgun and one with a sawed-off shotgun. They fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Over the following three days officers from East District General Patrol and detectives from the Major Crimes Unit arrested three adult males and charged them in relation to these two incidents.
- William Arthur SAMPSON, 49
- Charles Brian LAMBERT, 47
- Tariq Devonte BLAIR, 20
Have all been charged with numerous robbery and firearms-related offences and remanded into custody.
