MISSING PERSON – MADISON PONACE : R19-56417
The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing 13-year-old female, Madison PONACE.
PONACE was last seen on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at approximately 10:00p.m. in the North West area of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
PONACE is described as Indigenous, 5'4, 100lbs, medium complexion, thin build, medium length black straight hair and brown eyes.
Police are concerned for PONACE’s well-being and are asking anyone with information regarding her whereabouts to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at 986-6250.
Drugs/Firearms – Arrests: C19-198090
During the evening of August 23, 2019, members of the Guns and Gangs Unit, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a suite in a residential building in the 400 block of Cumberland Avenue.
A number of individuals were taken into custody, and an investigation has led to the seizure of items including:
- Approximately 19.5 ounces of methamphetamine (estimated street value of $11,700)
- Approximately 2.5 ounces of cocaine (estimated street value of $5,000)
- $1,380 in Canadian currency
- 147 Tylenol 3 pills (estimated street value of $75)
- A loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun (tampered serial number)
- A .303 British bolt-action rifle (with ammunition)
- A sawed-off 12 gauge shotgun (with ammunition)
- Body armour
- Packaging materials and score sheets
Andrew Shayne Guinto, a 30-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Codeine
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing Serial Number has been Tampered With
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations (x3)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (x3)
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Possess body armour without a valid permit or in a manner inconsistent with the valid permit (The Body Armour and Fortified Vehicle Control Act)
- Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking Given by Officer in Charge (x4)
Priscilla Rose-Marie Wood, a 26-year-old female of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Codeine
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations (x2)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (x2)
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Possess body armour without a valid permit or in a manner inconsistent with the valid permit (The Body Armour and Fortified Vehicle Control Act)
They were detained in custody.
Drugs – Arrest: R19-49540
During the evening of August 24, 2019, members of the Guns and Gangs Unit, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of Young Street.
A number of individuals were taken into custody, and an investigation has led to the seizure of items including:
- Approximately 17 ounces of methamphetamine (estimated street value of $10,200)
- Approximately 1 gram of fentanyl (estimated street value of $100)
- $4,170 in Canadian currency
- Packaging materials
- Contaminated scales
- Property that had been stolen from a business in the St. James Industrial area
Matthew Kyle Merrells, a 31-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine (x2)
- Possession of Scheduled Substance – Fentanyl
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
He was detained in custody.
