Drugs & Weapons – Arrests: C19-268234
During the evening of November 14, 2019, members of the North District Community Support Unit, with the assistance of the Central District Community Support Unit, the Guns & Gangs Unit and Tactical Support Team, executed Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Criminal Code search warrants at two suites in a residence in the 300 block of Toronto Street.
The investigation has led to the seizure of numerous items, including the following:
- A sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun.
- Four 12-gauge shotgun shells
- A machete
- Soft body armour
- Approximately 7 ounces of methamphetamine (estimated street value of $4,200)
- Drug packaging materials
- A digital scale contaminated with a substance believed to be drug residue
- $3,900 in cash
Stuart James Asham, a 45-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Possess body armour without a valid permit or in a manner inconsistent with the valid permit (BAFVCA)
- Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice (x7)
Sage Madison Durupt, a 20-year-old female of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Possess body armour without a valid permit or in a manner inconsistent with the valid permit (BAFVCA)
- Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice (x6)
David Cameron Gray, a 46-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (x5)
They were detained in custody.
A 16-year-old male of Winnipeg has been arrested for:
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
- Fail to Comply with Sentence
He was released on a Promise to Appear.
